Mindfulness defined as the consciousness or one's awareness on the present moment including thoughts, feelings and acceptance for what is. Intention – by settings intentions for the day this helps us always remember back to either something that we would like focus on feeling on the day, self improving goals or even things you need to get done. Journal - journal writing often can help you release or process thoughts and emotions by writing things down we can lessen stress boost creativity we are also able to set & achieve goals by holding yourself accountable when you look over your writings. Meditation – meditation has many benefits it is a great way to set intentions for the day a time to tune into your breath and become aware of how you are feeling, releasing thoughts and memories that no longer serve you a purpose. I also use this as a time to picture how I want my day to play out from how I feel to how I can have the best possible interactions. Dance – dancing can raise your vibration, your mood, it’s great exercise and a lot of fun! Singing – singing can strengthen the immune system, can help lower stress levels, boosts cardio function, opens up sinuses and respiratory function, increases mental alertness and feelings of overall wellbeing. Art – art is a form of self expression so much can be considered art – dancing, singing included, writing, drawing, painting just to name a few where you can let your hands feet or voice be the doing and put your energy in the ‘being and let things flow.’ Stretching/yoga – a form of mindful movement releasing tension from the body, yoga using the postures as a way to learn our body and gain full body improvements from more mindfulness to an increase in mobility and flexibility, calming our nervous system and ability to sleep deeper. Staying hydrated – aside from being one of the most vital resources needed for all living things being hydrated can help with concentration as just 1% of dehydration can result is a 12% loss of productivity and can put stress on cognitive function. Getting off your phone – getting off your phone for a dedicated amount of time daily can be beneficial even if it for an hour or two with our phones being used for soo much these days and even having more online business or work to do online it can easily lead to obsessive behaviour and also can make you feel isolated from the reality of what is around us. It’s nice sometimes not to be a slave to our ringtones and message alerts and be in the present moment. Author Daniela Cavallaro
